Katherine and Thomas were married on Friday, September 18, 2009 at Assumption Church in beautiful Westport, Connecticut. Their reception was held at The Inn at Longshore, also in Westport. I was thrilled to be able to attend Kathy and Tom’s wedding with my friend Erica from Ambiance [Chic] Wedding Designs. We worked together with Kathy on her wedding design and it was a blast! When I first met with Kathy she described her wedding style as classic, elegant and clean. Her color palette was black, champagne and pale pink – Kathy expressed the desire to have her colors feel like candlelight. We chose to go with Coal metallic card stock for her black which has tiny speck of silver in it. We paired that with the lushly patterned Diamond Repousse card stock, which features a floral pattern including hydrangeas, roses and tulips. For Kathy’s printed pieces, we chose the coordinating Diamond card stock.
Kathy’s invitation design features a dramatic swirl design that feels both formal and playful. We paired her design with the typefaces Passions Script and Trajan. To keep with the formal and elegant feel of the wedding, Kathy chose to have her invitations thermographed with black ink. The full invitation suite features a 7×7 Classic Pocket Fold® which is secured with an outer seal and a belly band in Repousse vellum. Envelope liners are in Diamond Repousse, custom printed with the couple’s names and wedding date.
For Kathy’s wedding day stationery we created programs, escort cards, table numbers and dinner menus, as well as various signs needed throughout the reception. Kathy’s escort cards, table numbers and menus all featured glittering Swarovski crystals applied by hand. I arranged the escort cards in a spoke pattern on a huge circular marble table under gorgeous arrangements by Jane at Just For You Floral Designs. We even created signage for the very popular all white candy buffet! Kathy and Tom’s guests filled Mini Take-Out Boxes as favors. The Vanilla Salt Water Taffy wins my vote!
